Filipino rock superstar Arnel Pineda recently announced his upcoming performances in the U.S. and Canada during a recent press conference in Queens, N.Y.

Organized by MCY Entertainment and Up North Entertainment, the tour entitled Arnel Pineda: The Album Promo Tour 2017 will present Arnel on stage in nine cities from Nov. 4 thru Dec. 3, delivering original compositions and favorite covers.

The Journey frontman is promoting his self-titled album, a testimony of this well-rounded musicality beyond being the face of a legendary rock band.

He has penned and produced all the tracks for the album, some of which he wrote far back as 2000.

One of the more prominent Filipino musicians who has ever graced the rock industry, Arnel is the frontman of the world renowned band Journey.

Prior to joining the famed American outfit, he was part of Pinoy bands Ammo and Zoo.

He was also a cover musician, having played in various establishments in Manila, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Through YouTube, he was discovered by Journey lead guitarist and founding member Neal Schon.

Arnel officially joined the band in December 2007 and formally performed his first show during Journey’s stop in Chile of their 2008 tour.

He was born on Sept. 5, 1967 in Tondo, Manila.

After his mother’s illness and eventual death put the family in dire financial situation, he volunteered to live independently, taking on odd jobs to provide for himself at age 14.

At 15, he became the lead singer of the band Ijos.

In 1986, along with some members of Ijos, he formed Ammo and the band went on to win the Rock Wars contest.

In 1988, Ammo won the Philippine leg of the Yamaha World Band Explosion and competed in Hong Kong for the finals.

In 1990, Arnel and other Ammo members formed another band called Intensity Five which was first runner-up at the Yamaha World Band Explosion, with Arnel winning Best Vocalist.

He also fronted the bands New Age, 9mm, Most W@anted and Zoo.

One of the faces of Journey, Arnel has appeared in various TV programs and graced the covers of several publications from around the world.

Among his television appearances include The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show and NBC Today Show.

He has also contributed to international magazines such as Rolling Stone.

Arnel has performed with Journey in almost every famed stages, including Hollywood Bowl, Tokyo Budokan and Wembley Arena to an average crowd of 10,000.

He has also performed at noted music festivals like the Download Festival and Grasspop Mental Meeting.

Arnel released his first-ever EP in 2015.

Entitled Arnel Pineda Experiment or AP.ex, the CD contains six all original tracks.

In 2016, he released his first full album AP, with songs he personally penned, some going far back as the early 2000s.

He will embark on a solo tour in 2017 to promote his album in the Philippines, U.S. and Canada.

When he is not making the rounds with Journey, Arnel busies himself with the Arnel Pineda Foundation (APFI), a non stock, non profit and independent foundation that provides underprivileged children access to quality education and health services.
