JUNE 17—The public is invited to the Rockefeller-Aspen Diaspora Program (RAD) and JCI Philippine-New York for a discussion on how the U.S.-Filipino diaspora can benefit development efforts in the Philippines. It will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Philippine Center at 556 5th Avenue (between 45th and 46th Streets) in Manhattan. There will be a reception in the lobby, followed by the town hall meeting at the Kalayaan Hall. Food and beverage will be provided. JUNE 20—The University of Santo Tomas Singers, led by conductor Fidel Gener Calalang Jr., will stage a concert in New York City as part of its 27th international concert tour. The Manila-based premiere mixed choral ensemble — two-time Llangollen Musical Eistedfodd Choir Of The World champions in Wales, U.K. — is performing at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 25 Carmine Street in Manhattan at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $25 each. Cardinal Quevedo to celebrate mass in N.Y.
JUNE 22—Philippine Cardinal Orlando Beltran Quevedo, Archbishop of Cotabato, will celebrate mass at St. Louis De Montfort at 75 New York Avenue, Sound Beach, NY 11789. Sponsored by the parish community of St. Louis de Monfort, the mass will start at noon. A potluck reception will follow at the church cafeteria. Quevedo, the Philippines’ eighth cardinal, was inducted into the College of Cardinals on Feb. 22.
