The Philippine Consulate General in New York, in cooperation with the Filipino Executive Council of Greater Philadelphia, as well as the Kapitbayan Filipino-American Association, Inc., the Philippine American Association of Central PA, LUZVIMINDA of PA and the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), conducted a consular outreach mission to Philadelphia and the Central Pennsylvania area on April 1-2, 2017.

The consular outreach team was headed by Consul Kerwin Tate.

The team served the needs of the Filipino communities in the Philadelphia area, as well as central Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware, who had been looking forward to the consular outreach.

The Filipinos expressed their gratitude for the Consulate’s efforts in bringing consular services to their area, and also voiced out their appreciation to the sponsoring organizations for spearheading the undertaking to bring consular services to their part of the state.

For the two days that the team was in Pennsylvania they managed to provide service to all the clients who came for assistance.

The team processed 77 passports, 46 dual citizenship applications, 11 Civil Registry reports and 37 notarial applications, and ended up with a total of 171 services rendered.

The team also registered 83 new Overseas Absentee Voters.

PAG-IBIG Fund representative Michael Azucena was likewise on hand to promote membership in the mutual fund.

At the West Chester, Central Pennsylvania Outreach, the Filipino American Legal Defense and Education Fund (FALDEF), represented by Atty. JT Mallonga, was present on a voluntary basis to provide advice on immigration matters to members of the public who came to avail of outreach services.
