The officers and staff of the Consulate General led the public recitation of 1Pangako in observance of National Autism Consciousness Week, which was participated in by staff members of the Philippine Mission to the United Nations and the Philippine Center, as well as Filipino-American consular applicants, following flag-raising ceremonies held at the Lobby Gallery of the Philippine Center on Jan. 30, 2017.

An inspiring message about autism as a condition affecting about a million Filipinos today and a touching call to action for public servants to understand the struggles of the families who live with autism, was conveyed by Mr. Thor Indanan, the Consulate’s Finance Officer.

The ceremony is a prelude to the 2017 Fashion Arts Autism Benefit (FAAB) which will take place at the Philippine Center in New York on April 7, 2017 organized by the Consulate General in cooperation with the Autism Hearts Foundation with Philippine Department of Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial as guest of honor.
