The 25th Annual Path to Peace Gala was held at The Pierre Hotel in New York on May 24, 2017.

It was organized by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See and the Path to Peace Foundation.

It was attended by over 400 guests, including some Filipinos.

This year’s Path to Peace awardee for Outstanding Service to Humanity is His Eminence Mario Cardinal Zenari, Apostolic Nuncio to Syria.

He has worked to protect and defend the persecuted Christians in Syria and to promote peace in the Middle East.

Another awardee is Sister Mary Angel of Uganda for her work on the victims of rape, abduction and sexual slavery, as well as the culture of rape in her country.

The members of the Gala Dinner Committee headed by Filipino Archbishop Bernardito Auza are Loida Nicolas Lewis, Roger Santos and Josie Santos, and Robert and Margaret Lacson-Ecarma.
